The members of the 2008 SEACSM Clinical Track Planning Committee (Tracy Ray, Andrew Gregory, Brent Arnold, Anne Allen, Sean Bryan, and Kevin Burroughs) hope you and your sports medicine fellows will join us at the 2008 SEACSM Annual Meeting Clinical Track on February 15th and 16th at the Wynfrey Hotel at the Galleria Complex in Birmingham, AL. Also, please encourage your fellows to submit a case for presentation as part of the 2008 Clinical Track. The best fellow case presentation will be recognized with an award and cash prize during the SEACSM Chapter Luncheon on Saturday February 16th. Instructions for submitting cases will be listed during the fall of 2007- please note the deadline for case submissions will be announced in the fall of 2007.

Deadline for case submissions is December 15, 2007 for the 2008 meeting. Send case submissions (Microsoft Word Document e-mail attachment) directly to Dr. Tracy Ray at : boxford@asmi.org (Becky Oxford is Tracy's asst. at ASMI). Case Submission Abstract Format (500 word limit - not including title): Title of Case, History (To include history of present illness, past medical history, medications, allergies, etc), Physical examination, Differential diagnosis list, Data (To include diagnostic tests performed and results, laboratory studies performed and results, etc), Final working diagnosis and treatment, and Outcome. Authors of cases that are accepted for presentation during SEACSM Clinical Track wil be notified by Friday January 11, 2008.




2008 SEACSM Clinical Award Winner:

The 2008 SEACSM Clinical Case Award Winner was won by Jeffrey B. Roberts, MD. He is from the Duke University program in Durham, NC.


2007 SEACSM Clinical Award Winner:

The 2007 SEACSM Clinical Case Award Winner was won by Jason Blackham from the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University (sports med fellow) in Greenville NC.


The 2006 SEACSM Clinical Award Winner (Plaque and check): 2006 Award Winner was: Stefanie Shaver, MD from the Southwest Georgia Sports Medicine Program .
